A Time to Give Thanks!

Well we’re in that American Season of Thanksgiving, which by the way is one of my favorites..... Each year my whole family (all siblings and kids, and sometimes parents – depending on their ability to travel) gathers together for several days of fellowship, fun, (and eating). It is always an enjoyable time.

Even though it’s a great time to focus on “giving thanks,” it’s also a good time to consider what the Bible says about giving thanks.

The word “thanks” occurs 73 times in 71 verses in the KJV of the Bible.

Here’s what it says in one particular place:

O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Ps 105:1 (KJV)

I particularly love this verse because it not only exhorts us to give Him thanks, but it also tells us to – Tell everyone what he has done for us - you know - those things that we’re thankful for.

So here are just a few from me. I’m thankful for:

How much Jesus loves me
My awesome wife Michelle who loves Jesus and loves me
My two beautiful daughters Bethany Grace & Anna Faith
A good job
That I’m in perfect health
That my wife and Children are perfectly healthy
For all the wisdom God has given me about so many different things in the past few years
My extended family
My Church family
My many awesome, honest, and sincere friends
For so many answered prayers….

So I hope all of you who read this have an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving!

I hope reading this gives you a moment to pause and consider all that God has done for you.

And after you do, I hope you thank Him, and then tell everyone what He’s done!
